Pastels for Beginners

During the course you will learn the essential techniques and information in using pastel pencils including;

• the material properties of pastel pencils,
• how to effectively manage value and colour with pastels,
• how to use pastels to communicate form and suggest texture, and
• create depth and atmosphere in your image.

• Selecting and working with a limited palette - identify the essential colours and how to get the most out of them
