Art Classes for Children

These art classes are suitable for advanced primary school children and early high school students.  The structured lessons are designed for students to learn to "see and be" like an artist.

These classes may also assist school students who are considering HSC Art studies during their senior high school years.

 In these classes your child will;

• Develop and extend foundation skills
• Be introduced to a variety of new artistic topics and themes
• Explore and experiment with different techniques and media
• Learn safe and sustainable studio practices
• Build the foundation to develop his or her own individual artistic style

 This class will prepare your child to move into senior transition classes (by invitation),  adult drawing and painting classes or Certificate III in Visual Arts for senior high school and HSC Students.

Term Topics

Each term a structured set of lesson plans are created based on a new term topic. 

The term topic supports learning of techniques and artistic styles presented in the context of an art movement or famous artist.  Keeping students interested and engaged with a fresh topic each term increases the effectiveness and speed of learning.

The Term Topic for Term 2 - 2024 is Pop Art.
